YOUR RIGHTS 2001
This pamphlet has been prepared by John Bennett, an honours graduate in both law and arts who was secretary of the Victorian Council for Civil Liberties ( CCL ) from 1966, when it was established as an offshoot of the NSWCCL, to 1980 and has been president of the Australian Civil Liberties Union since 1980.
John Bennett worked for the Legal Aid Commission and its predecessors from 1974 to 1996. While every care has been taken to ensure the advice has been accurate there is no substitute for obtaining legal or other professional advice on the facts of each particular case.
